Answer is probably yes, but I have to ask anyway…
Since November my readers have been aware that I have had chronic constipation and these last 4 months I gained 3 lbs…Well my husband and I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t lose weight and why my body was doing this cause my diet was the same and I exercise daily for 1/2 hour or more some days…Normal routine nothing out of whack…
We got our answer and I can’t believe it…Last November I decided to try a protein drink again and it’s one of the new ones pretty much all WLS people love…And guess what my body is taking the protein drink and absorbing it into fat cause I have a slow metabolism and causing me the constipation…WTF?? And doing my research and talking to Doctors cause I just couldn’t believe it that it happens to normal people as well…And since I have stopped drinking it, I am losing my weight…My symptoms are going away…
Odd isn’t it, so I’m curious is this just me or are others having these problems as well…Surely I’m not the odd one…This is my experience only and not saying it’s happening to you or someone else, but we all know how weird things happen to me…
Thanks,
Berrigirl
I know that if I eat an overabundance of solids and even with drinking tons of fluids, I get this way. I was told to add metamucil to my diet. It’s extremely painful no matter what I do. As for protein shakes, I have one to try but still can’t be brought to mix it up yet. Must..get…past..icky…chalky..taste of protein shakes.
I was taking every laxative that I could and nothing was working…Doctor even put me on some powerful meds and that didn’t work…And this didn’t start happening until last November…And that is when we put two and two together to realize that this was causing the problem…Which I wasn’t even aware of that could happen…But we know how weird my body is, I had to be put on medication to slow my digestive system down 2 yrs ago cause of my sugar dropping all the time…So I might be just the odd one..LOL

Man. You are one smart, body-aware cookie! I probably would have missed that. Thank you for writing about it. Another thing to consider. Much appreciated.
Unfortunately I have to be, cause weird things happen all the time to me…LOL…It’s just to funny sometimes not to share…
But it’s another thing to think about…

I dont know much about weightloss surgery, but about 4 yrs ago my mother decided to undergo a gastric bypass. I was worried because just the thought of surgery scares me. Well she came out of it just fine. But shortly after she started getting spells of vomiting after eating. The doctor tried to tell her that its due to overeating or eating sugary foods well. she wasnt overeating, for the first time in my life she was eating less then me, and it wasnt sugar, because her nutritionist put her on a specialized diet. Shortly after this started it stopped. We never did find the right answer, everyone seemed to be going in circles. Though one doctor whom I give a lot of credit to, did say that everyones bodies react very differntly to many things, no matter how begnine they seem to be. So he claims that its just a natural reaction to her body changing so rappidly, and that many things could form or disappear due to so many changes at once. Here is a link that may help to answer any questions http://www.nationalbariatriclink.org/faq-on-weight-loss-surgery.htmlchanges at once.
