First of all I have to say, if I knew 6 yrs ago that one I could not absorb Iron pills or liquid Iron and that I would have to do the shot for the rest of my life then my answer again would be Hell no, I would not have had the surgery…Now to some that might sound like I’m just crazy..But trust me when they stick you with this big needle and it feels like they are putting acid in my hip(which permanently leaves a black mark on your hips) then you would understand my feelings on this…It’s sad when I start saying the F word and apologizing to the nurse for saying that…But they are so good that they just say it’s understandable…
So now you know where I was yesterday…Not only that but on one hand it makes you really sleepy and I have to come home and take a couple hours nap…Everyone knows that when I get one of these I’m not good for a couple of days…
Sometimes I stop and think and wonder if I was allergic to the shots or IV of the Iron that some people are and then what would my solution be? Hello Bariatric Doctors, you might want to address this issue, please…

Ouch! I have heard about this iron transfusion stuff and am sincerely hoping I can keep that monster at bay! I was flirting with a very low ferritin level, but so far, they say I’m borderline anemic, instead of full-on anemic, which means I’m only “kinda tired” — lol. But, seriously, I was getting enough iron IN, just not absorbing it, so I’ve changed formulas (to a freaking expensive one) and just crossing my fingers that it will help. I will retest in 6 months…Hang in there, and I’m really sorry to hear you are on the transfusion list. That sucks!

Unfortunately I’m on the list and it’s not a fun one to be on…LOL…But I get alot of slack cause people tell me I’m not doing something right and it’s like trust me I have…Even my Doctors will tell you that we have tried it all and my body just doesn’t like me…I can’t stress that enough…I would rather take a pill then do this to myself, I would need serious help if I enjoyed getting these shots..LOL…
Let me know how your retest goes for you in 6 months please…
